Grades  - Incoming 4th and 5th graders

July 15-18

8 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.  (Students can take advantage of lunch at CMS when the camp is done)

Location - CMS

Max enrollment - 40 per grade (80 total)

4th Grade Modules -

Bubble Bonanza!  - Explore how bubbles behave and investigate the properties of different materials to engineer the ultimate bubble wands!

The Sky’s the Limit! - Dive into aeronautical engineering by designing models of flying technologies that help NASA collect aerial photographs.

Light Up the Night Sky! - Experiment with circuits and sculpting materials and design a light display that replicates the Northern Lights.

5th Grade Modules -

Lift Off! - Help NASA explore far away worlds by engineering prototype rockets and rovers to explore planets and moons in our solar system.

Go Green! - Explore the properties of a race car to design the ultimate racers made entirely of recycled materials.

To The Rescue! - Severe flooding has cut people off from important supplies. Engineer “aid drop packages” that can be dropped from an aircraft, protect what’s inside, and are easy to find once they reach the ground.

8 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.  (lunch provided at CMS)

Location - CMS

Max Enrollment - 64

6-8 Grade Modules -

High Tech Fashion - Design wearable light up duct tape clothing! Students work with basic circuit methodology while infusing their designs with creativity and innovation. Show off your work on the CMS fashion runway!

Marble Madness -  Students will use their ingenuity and learn to work with basic tools to create the ultimate complex marble run where to meet specific design requirements. Can you give your marble the longest ride?

Toy Automata - Bring an old broken toy, take it apart, and explore how it works. Design a new toy using old toy parts and combining it with cams, levers, linkages, and cranks.

Kitchen Detectives - Code breakers meets Escape Room meets Scavenger Hunt!  Students will use cryptology, math, and their puzzle solving skills to decipher a cake recipe written in code.  Get it right and enjoy a yummy treat!

VEX Robotics $20
