Help Equip the Future of the Discoverer Marching Band
After years of patching and repairing well-loved instruments, the Discoverer Marching Band’s front ensemble (or “pit”) is in urgent need of new equipment. These instruments are essential to the sound, performance, and educational experience of our band students—and now, we’re asking for your help to bring them up to par.
The total cost for this much-needed upgrade is $80,000, which includes vital percussion instruments such as:
- Marimbas & Vibraphones
- Concert Xylophone & Glockenspiel
- Concert Bass Drum
- A variety of professional-quality Zildjian cymbals (including K Constantinoples, a Zil-Bell, FX China Trash, and more)
- Cymbal Vaults & Custom Hybrid Crashes
- And other critical frontline percussion gear
Thanks to generous support:
✔️ The district is covering 50% of the total cost
✔️ The CHS Band Boosters have committed to raising 25%
✔️ And now, the CPS Foundation is offering a $5,000 matching challenge to rally alumni and friends of the band to help raise the final 25%—just $15,000 more is needed by August 1, 2025.
- A donation of any size will receive a handwritten thank you from a member of the Discoverer Marching Band.
- A donation of $500 or more will receive a handwritten thank you from a member of the Discoverer Marching Band as well as a video thank you from a member of the Frontline.
- A donation of $1,000 or more will receive a handwritten thank you from a member of the Discoverer Marching Band, a video thank you from a member of the Frontline and a free ticket to the Columbus Marching Festival event on September 27, 2025.
