STEM on the GO!

STEM on the Go! is a Columbus Public Schools trailer that will go to sites where students will have the opportunity to do different STEM activities.  CPS elementary and middle school teachers have created lessons and curriculum to use in STEM on the Go!

  • Standards Targeted Grade: 1st Grade
    Suitable Grade/Age Range: 5-7 years old
    Topics of Study: Strength and DIrection of Forces
    Objective: Students will change the strength and direction of a wrecking ball's push to safely knock down a building.

  • Standards Targeted Grade: 1st Grade
    Suitable Grade/Age Range: K-2
    Topics of Study: Communication with codes, distance with light

  • Standards Targeted Grade: 1st Grade
    Suitable Grade/Age Range: 6-12 years
    Topics of Study: Anatomy, Structure and Function
    Objective: Students will create a structure that will protect an animal from UV rays.

  • Standards Targeted Grade: 1st Grade
    Suitable Grade/Age Range: K-2
    Topics of Study: Engineering, Simple Machines
    Objective: Students will use different materials to create an invention to solve a problem.

  • Standards Targeted Grade: 2nd Grade
    Suitable Grade/Age Range: 2nd-5th Grade
    Topics of Study: Science, Engineering & Technology
    Objective: Students will learn about bridge design and use their knowledge of forces to engineer a strong bridge made of paper.
